Fresh Jagua-Henna Cones (USA only)

from $50.00

Artisan Jagua-Henna Cones

Back for a limited time! Jagua-Henna cones leave a faster, darker stain than plain henna. The stain can range from a deep burgundy to nearly black on the palms. Results may vary according to your base skin tone and your aftercare.

Ingredients:

  • Certified Organic Rajasthani henna - October 2022 harvest

  • Wild-crafted Peruvian jagua juice (sustainably harvested AND supports the Peruvian Shipibo tribe.)

  • Organic cane sugar (vegan)

  • Premium essential oils

Allergy Note:

Jagua (Genipa Americana) comes from an unripe tropical berry. There is a small incidence of allergy in those who are allergic to berries (such as strawberry or kiwi) or tropical fruits. Unripe fruits/berries also contain natural enzymes that may be irritating to sensitive skin. Use common sense, and discontinue use if itching occurs.

About this product:

  • Cones are made of thin but durable mylar

  • 10-15 grams per cone (average 12grams), enough for 8-10 small (silver dollar) patterns or 4-5 medium strips/veils, or 1 side of a bridal hand (elbow to fingertips).

  • NO synthetic dyes, metallic salts, or preservatives

  • This is a perishable product. We recommend Priority or Express shipping to keep fresh during shipping.

  • Keep frozen when not in use, thaw 30 minutes before use.

  • If there is a problem with your fresh paste, please let us know within 24 hours of receipt (enough time to do a basic stain test). We reserve the right to refund or replace a defective order.

Express Shipping is for Freshness, not for Emergencies.

How to apply jagua-henna:

  1. Cleanse and dry the skin. Do not apply any oil or lotions.

  2. Snip a tiny bit off the end of the cone to allow the paste to flow

  3. Apply your design to the skin and take care not to smudge it while it dries. Jagua begins to stain almost immediately, so even if you think you’ve fixed a smudge, it will show within 12-24 hours.

  4. If desired, spritz with a light mist of sugar-water/hydrosol to remoisten and seal, but being careful to avoid drips as the jagua can “ghost” if it’s too moist.

  5. Allow paste to fully dry and rest on skin for 6-8 hours or overnight.

  6. Jagua-henna paste may be rinsed off, but you’ll still get the darkest results if you avoid wetting it for 24 hours.

  7. When it’s starting to fade, you can give it a scrub with an exfoliating mitt to remove it more quickly, and to prepare the skin for your next design.
