For thousands of years, women have colored their hair with the leaves of the henna plant. Today, it's making a comeback as more and more people veer away from toxic chemical dyes. It leaves your hair shiny, your scalp flake-free, and grays hidden.

Basic recipe for hair:

100 grams henna powder

Approximately 8 ounces of purified water

10-30ml of essential oil (optional)

• Mix ingredients thoroughly until a paste-like consistency is achieved.

• Let the mixture sit for about one hour prior to application.

• Apply oil, lotion or our henna balm to the hairline, neck, and ears to avoid the henna staining your skin

• Wearing gloves, or using a brush, apply the henna paste to the hair, starting at the roots and working your way down.

• Cover hair with a shower cap, or saran wrap, and allow to rest for 1-3 hours (resistant gray hair may need more time)

• Rinse thoroughly, and apply conditioner to hair, and rinse again. Wait 2-3 days before shampooing if possible.
